About Oso Semiconductor

Oso Semiconductor is an early-stage fabless semiconductor company developing next-generation mmWave beamforming technology. Founded by UC Berkeley PhDs, our proprietary RFIC architecture delivers 2-4x power reduction for phased array systems across satellite communication (SATCOM), 5G, and radar. We’ve raised Series A funding, secured our first defense and commercial customers, and are preparing to scale the team 3X.

The Role

As a Business Development Advisor, you’ll be a strategic partner to the Head of Operations and the CEO. You’ll bring deep SATCOM industry knowledge and an active network of decision-makers to help Oso secure early design wins, engage the right partners, and sharpen our go-to-market positioning.

This is a relationship-driven role. The most valuable thing you bring is access to the people who buy, specify, and integrate phased array front-end solutions in the satellite communications ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • Guide Oso Semi’s SATCOM market entry. Identify, curate, convert and capitalize opportunities in LEO, MEO, and GEO terminal markets.
  • Connect Oso Semi with decision-makers at satellite operators, terminal OEMs, and ground station integrators.
  • Understand customers’ pain points, and articulate Oso Semi’s beamforming value proposition in language customers respond to.
  • Provide insight on pricing, competitive positioning, and differentiation strategies.
  • Monitor market dynamics, customer activity, and competitive developments to keep Oso Semi’s leadership team informed and strategically positioned.
  • Support development of customer-facing materials, demo strategies, and pitch narratives.
  • Represent Oso Semi at key industry conferences and events, driving strategic introductions, coordinating customer and partner meetings, and expanding the company’s visibility across the SATCOM and RF ecosystem.
  • Assist with investor conversations and government funding opportunities (SBIR, AFWERX, DARPA).

Required Qualifications

  • Deep knowledge of satellite communication: LEO/MEO/GEO markets, terminal architectures, key players.
  • 5+ years in BD, sales, or partnerships in SATCOM, RF/microwave, or semiconductor.
  • Active network with satellite operators, ground station integrators, terminal OEMs, and equipment vendors.
  • Track record driving BD for early-stage or deep-tech companies.
  • Ability to translate complex RF/semiconductor features into business value.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with phased arrays, ESAs, or mmWave front-end solutions.
  • Understanding of SATCOM regulatory and spectrum challenges (FCC, ITU).
  • Relationships with defense/government SATCOM programs (DoD, Space Force, AFRL).
  • Prior advisory or board experience helping deep-tech startups.
  • Familiarity with other players in this space: Skyworks/Qorvo, Renesas, Sivers, pSemi, Analog Devices.
