We are seeking an experienced Asbestos Analyst / Surveyor to support a growing portfolio of projects across Scotland and beyond.

Purpose & Scope of the Role

As an Asbestos Analyst / Surveyor, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality asbestos surveying and analytical services across a diverse range of commercial, industrial and public-sector environments. Working within an established technical team, you will support the safe management and removal of asbestos in accordance with current legislation, industry standards and best practice guidance.

This role offers the opportunity to work on varied and technically challenging projects, including government and secure-sector contracts, while building strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders.

You will help protect people, property and communities by delivering accurate asbestos assessments and ensuring removal activities are completed safely and compliantly. Your technical knowledge and attention to detail will support informed decision-making for clients while maintaining the highest professional and regulatory standards across every project.

5 Core CapabilitiesTechnical Surveying & Analytical Expertise

  • Deliver asbestos surveys, air monitoring and analytical services to a high technical standard
  • Conduct 4-stage clearances, reassurance, background, leak and personal air testing
  • Assess asbestos-containing materials and provide practical risk management recommendations

Site Monitoring & Compliance

  • Monitor asbestos removal activities to ensure compliance with legislation and approved procedures
  • Support safe working practices across a range of operational environments
  • Maintain high standards of quality, accuracy and reporting

Client & Stakeholder Communication

  • Build strong working relationships with clients, contractors and internal teams
  • Provide clear technical guidance and professional updates throughout project delivery
  • Produce concise and comprehensive technical reports

Collaboration & Flexibility

  • Work independently and collaboratively within multi-disciplinary project teams
  • Adapt to changing project requirements and varied site environments
  • Support projects involving regional, national and occasional international travel

Professional Standards & Integrity

  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic, attention to detail and commitment to health and safety
  • Meet security clearance and background check requirements for secure-sector projects
  • Uphold professional standards in all client and site interactions

Training, Qualifications & Experience

BOHS P402, P403 and P404 qualifications (or equivalent) are essential, alongside proven asbestos surveying and analytical experience. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, with higher-level qualifications such as an HND considered advantageous.

Working Environment

This role is based in Scotland with a combination of site, client and office-based work. Flexible and hybrid working arrangements may be available depending on project requirements. Regular travel is expected, including occasional national and international assignments.
