Tetra Tech is seeking a mid-level Stormwater Engineer to support impactful municipal infrastructure and drainage projects across Florida. Position Summary

The Stormwater Engineer will support the planning, design, and delivery of municipal stormwater and water resources projects throughout Florida. This role includes technical design, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, preparation of construction documents, permitting coordination, and collaboration with clients and internal project teams. The ideal candidate is technically driven, detail-oriented, and eager to contribute to meaningful infrastructure projects with opportunities for continued career growth.

Essential Job Functions

  • Support the design and delivery of stormwater and municipal infrastructure projects for public sector clients throughout Florida.
  • Prepare and assist with drainage studies, stormwater modeling, calculations, construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Contribute to stormwater quality, flood mitigation, green infrastructure (GI), and low impact development (LID) projects.
  • Assist with permitting efforts and coordination with local municipalities and regulatory agencies.
  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using industry-standard software and tools.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including engineers, designers, scientists, and project managers to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Participate in field investigations, site visits, and construction support activities as needed.
  • Support project schedules, budgets, and deliverable coordination to ensure successful project execution.
  • Contribute to technical reports, presentations, and client deliverables.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
  • 4–8 years of experience supporting stormwater, drainage, or water resources projects for municipal clients in Florida
  • Engineer Intern (EI) certification or ability to obtain PE license within 6 months.
  • Experience preparing stormwater calculations, drainage reports, and construction plans
  • Working knowledge of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software and stormwater design principles
  • Familiarity with Florida water quality regulations and permitting requirements
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering

Physical Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee may be required to:
  • Sit, stand, and use standard office equipment for extended periods.
  • Lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Walk on uneven terrain and navigate active construction sites safely.

Work Environment/Environment Factors

  • This position primarily operates in an office setting with hybrid flexibility.
  • Occasional travel to project sites, client meetings, or field locations may be required.
  • Site visits may involve exposure to outdoor weather conditions, construction sites, and active infrastructure environments.
