Purpose & Scope of the Role
We are seeking Senior to Associate level ecologists with a specialism in Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) to join our growing Nature team. You will contribute to the delivery and expansion of a diverse BNG project portfolio within a leading global consultancy, working across sectors including residential, energy, defence, transport and government.
Operating within a multidisciplinary environment, you will collaborate closely with planning, engineering and environmental specialists, supporting projects from early opportunity identification through to delivery.

You will play a key role in delivering high-quality BNG assessments and solutions, advising clients and colleagues on biodiversity strategy, offsetting, credits and compensation.
Your contribution will help strengthen technical excellence across the team, support client relationships and ensure projects achieve both regulatory compliance and positive environmental outcomes. You will also have the opportunity to develop your project management and technical leadership skills within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

Technical Expertise in BNG
- Deliver BNG assessments, strategies and management plans to a high standard
- Apply strong knowledge of BNG principles, metrics and best practice
- Manage tasks and support project delivery across varied sectors
- Ensure solutions are tailored to client and project requirements
- Work effectively with multidisciplinary teams across the business
- Build strong relationships with clients, local authorities and stakeholders
- Understand project drivers and contribute to successful delivery outcomes
- Support business development through technical input
- Contribute to team learning and share best practice
- Actively develop your own technical and professional capabilities
- Experience delivering BNG within a consultancy or similar environment
- Strong understanding of BNG policy, guidance and good practice principles
- Experience engaging with stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams
- Relevant degree in ecology or related field; CIEEM membership desirable
- Interest in developing project management and leadership skills
